About Me
Welcome to Trrips and Maps.
Hi! I’m a mom based in the Seattle/Eastside area, and the voice behind Trrips and Maps, a family travel blog focused on kid-friendly adventures and weekend getaways in and from the Pacific Northwest. My husband, my kid, and I love exploring together — and when we’re not on the road, you’ll find me planning our next Seattle-area trip or scouting new hikes, beaches, and parks.
I moved to Seattle in 2013 to work in tech, after living in St. Louis and Mumbai. Those experiences gave me a love for both city exploration and the outdoors.
Spending time outdoors has done wonders to my wellbeing. Through this blog I share helpful trip-planning tips and family travel guides to make traveling easier and more meaningful for others.

Where I’ve Been
Travel Destinations
Washington
We will explore the Puget Sound, Olympic Peninsula to the west, Cascades to the north, Palouse to the east and Columbia River plateau and Soutwest Washington.
We will explore the Portland area, Oregon coast, Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge, as well as parts of Central, Eastern and Southen Oregon.
Canada
If you think Seattle is grand, wait till you visit Canada, where the mountains feel biggers, cities feel cleaner and rivers and waterfalls in abundance. We will explore trips to Vancouver B.C., Victoria and the amazing Indian food along the way.
Idaho
Our eastern neighbor has a lot to offer. If you have driven east enough on I-90, you will have noticed Coeur d’Alene lake and made a note of visiting one day. But there is lot more to this potato sate.

My Experience Living and Traveling in PNW
The Seattle and Pacific Northwest (PNW) region never stops inspiring me — from waterfalls and alpine lakes to scenic coastal highways and mountain views.
We have so much natural beauty to soak in – from the gorgeous Olympic mountains to the west, to Cascades spanning the north and east, from rugged and scenic coastal highways to refreshing rainforests.
Like many newcomers to the area, I’m still in awe of its natural beauty. Our family spends weekends exploring hiking trails near Seattle, ferry trips, and beach parks — adventures that keep us connected, refreshed, and grateful for the outdoors.
Why I Started Blogging
To connect people to well-being through nature and travels.
Every trip — big or small — that brought us closer to nature has had a positive, lasting impact on our well-being. Through Trrips and Maps, I want to help others experience that same joy through family travel in the Pacific Northwest.
To make trip planning easier for others.
Traveling to places near and far is fun, but trip planning is not.
As a full-time working mom, I know how time-consuming travel planning can be. My goal is to share helpful, detailed itineraries, hiking guides, and trip ideas so families can spend more time exploring and less time researching.
To share perspective of and for people like me.
While there are millions of blogs on the internet today, it was hard to find information that catered to my background, skill levels or interest.
I also write from a perspective shaped by my Indian heritage and family setup — balancing travel with kids, parents, and visiting relatives. That lens helps me create inclusive and practical travel content for real families.
For example, if a hike is considered easy – is it really easy enough for my toddler and my again parents so that we can all enjoy the activity as a family? If I want to go camping, or take my kid skiing for the first time, where do I begin?
We love exploring this beautiful country through its national parks, state parks and the scenic corridoors. As I explore the PNW and create trusted travel resources on this blog, I hope it becomes a little easier for you to find travel related solutions for you and your family.
Why the name Trrips and Maps?
very journey I plan begins with a map — from discovering new PNW destinations to creating efficient itineraries and uncovering local hidden gems. Maps help me visualize and organize trips more effectively.
That’s why each post on Trrips and Maps includes a map, real photos, and firsthand insights, giving readers an authentic sense of what each place truly feels like — not just the picture-perfect version.
